The Kalamazoo sound goes back to the mid-seventies when Sipho, Pops and the late Basil Coetzee got together in a studio and recorded Pops's first solo album called Black Disco on the As-Shams label. Five albums followed over the next 12 years with the 'black disco logo'. New Crossings is the newest album and features the &ldquo;young Lions&rdquo;: Xoli Nkosi on keys, Moses Khumalo on all saxophones and Thabo Mashishi on trumpet.
