“Fried Plantains” from guitar player/writer/producer George Pajon Jr. draws on some of the great players of Jazz, including Mike Clark (Herbie Hancock/Headhunters) and Fred Wesley (James Brown), as well as some of today’s hot up-and-comers, such as Robert Walter, to create an exciting trip back to “Groove” music at a level creatively and sonically that has rarely been tapped since it’s heyday in the 1960’s and 70’s when the genre was lead by the likes of Grant Green and Herbie Hancock. With it’s fusion of Jazz, Funk, Blues, Hip Hop, a touch of Rock, and sometimes sprinkled with a little Latin flavor - in honor of George’s Cuban roots - “Fried Plantains” takes you on a musical journey that you will be glad to ride along for.
