It's a new re-composed version of 6 original themes full of fresh addings. There are some musical hints to the originals. The bigger part is new crisp electronic beats, multi-layered original Murat Ses samples, all in a gorgeous aural setting.
Murat's San Francisco/Miami and New York impressions this time find their way into his decades long musical journey into Anatolian, Levantine and Turkic composing styles i.e. Anadolu Pop and Electric Levantine (a more experimental application of Anadolu Pop, he is also creator of).

Artwork by ÖpBe, an upcoming graphics artist who also redesigned former albums (five albums in a row).

Automaton 2 (San Francisco Miami Impressions)

Automaton Squared

With AUTOMATON², his newest album, Murat goes on telling musical stories of his impressions of the timeless and boundless context of civilization.

You may regard AUTOMATON² (Automaton Squared) as the fourth solo album of Murat Ses' oeuvre which began with Automaton, making the trilogy a quadrilogy..

AUTOMATON² comes up with new electronic, dance, ambient world songs which also have the hallmark of his legendary fusion style known as Anadolu Pop (Grand Prix du Disque in Paris, France, back then in early 70s). All tracks have been composed during and following his stays in the U.S.A, predominantly in California and Florida.

Additional to new compositions such as EAU GALLIE, POLK STREET, INDIAN CREEK, there are new versions of former songs from the first Automaton accessible to larger audiences.

TAN 2, VALLE MARINERIS 2, NIHAL 2 and DRY SUN 2 will fascinate also those who listen to them for the first time! You can listen or simply dance to the album. Listeners of former albums already know of some other beyond-the-borders-of-Turkey influences originating in cultures of West Africa, Indian Ocean, South East Asia.

You'll find a big number of field recordings including street noises, some Afro-Cuban and Native American influences, all flowing into Murat's unique Turkic traditions with a great finesse. No big surprise considering his origin and his long stays in Miami and San Francisco.
