What do we carry as musicians, artists, that is fundamental to us? Now more than ever I can see that two things are most important, the first is to plunge into creation - from a search for what is new to a revisitation of tradition that may result in further evolution of our models and memory. The second concerns the way we exercise that act of plunging, that is to say, it refers to how we do it. I feel happy and rejuvenated to discover that Fato shares this persuasion and explores it collectively in music that is rich and unique. They pursue that passionate search for the unknown and, at the same time, they stand on definite musical roots, such as the ancient Fandango of the Paraná seaboard. I would say their vocation as a group is aimed towards a wide synthesis, in their approach to other Brazilian and planetary streams. It was a heart-warming and laughter-raising process we shared together. Let these songs bear fruit and let us feast and make merry at this turning point of eras, old and new. -- Rodolfo Stroeter, Producer
